5G Vehicle-to-Everything at the Cross-Borders: Security Challenges and Opportunities

5G Vehicle-to-Everything (5G-V2X) communications will play a vital role in the development of automotive industry. Indeed and thanks to Network Slicing (NS) concept beyond networks (B5G), unprecedented new vehicular use-cases can be supported on top same physical network. NS promises enable sharing common network infrastructure resources while ensuring strict traffic isolation providing necessary each NS. However, enabling brings security challenges requirements that or standards have not yet addressed. Attackers exploit weakest link slicing chain, connected automated vehicles, violate slice degrade its performance. Furthermore, these attacks more powerful, especially if they are produced cross-border areas two countries, which require an optimal transition from one operator another. Therefore, this article aims provide overview newly enabled 5G-V2X use cases their issues focusing attacks. It also presents open identifies some opportunities.
